It is adjacent to Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Hong Kong, Macao and many other PRD cities, and has 4 inter-city railways such as Guangzhu Inter-city Railway and Guangfu Loop Line, as well as 11 metro lines. The commute time between Guangzhou and Foshan is as short as 15 minutes; while a passenger in Shunde can reach any major PRD city in one hour, and 2 hours to any city within the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
Shunde is a famous manufacturing base in the PRD region or the entire China. Over the years Shunde has been awarded 28 honorary titles, including “Home Appliance Capital of China”, “Gas Appliances Capital of China” and “Hometown of Coating Products in China”. Made-in-Shunde products are popularly accepted at home and abroad. After over 40 years’ reform and innovation, Shunde has cultivated two locally-based Fortune 500 enterprises, namely Midea and Country Garden. Shunde also has two industrial clusters each with an output value exceeding 200 billion yuan (Appr. £38 billion CAD), namely home appliances and mechanical equipment manufacturing, and the district still endeavor to promote industrial upgrading and transformation.
